The great philosopher and author Virgil once said "Fortune favours the bold". Meaning, I think, only those brave enough to gamble will ever win. Undoubtedly, wise words. Similarly Julius Caesar, before crossing the Rubicon River to seize control of the Roman government and become Emperor, once said "The die is cast", telling us two important historical truths: (1) Julius liked an ol' fashioned dice game, would in fact probably be at the craps tables in Vegas if still alive today and, (2) You have to risk if you are to gain.
Caesar risked life, limb, career and fortune to build an empire, the scale of which marvels us today. He risked everything and gambled all so we could have Roman law, infrastructure, engineering and a creamy, delicious salad, which are essentailly all the the basic componets of modern western civilization today. I'm only asking you to risk $40 dollars. Now don't you feel silly.
The moral of the story: Gamble my friends! Go to the BLRC Poker Tourney this Saturday, risk your forty dollars and possibly gain so much more. Gain fame, gain fortune, gain immortality! (Alan Tang Disclaimer: Metaphoric immortality only - your name may live forever, you will not)
