Ladies!
Couple big events to remind you of:
WHAT: Team Meeting/Potluck/Mickey Draw
WHEN: Thursday Dec 6, 6:30pm
WHERE: upstairs in the clubhouse
WHAT TO BRING: food donation for the food bank
WHAT FOOD TO BRING: We will be having a* blue and white theme* for dinner,
so be creative/inventive with your food ideas! BACK 3 - desserts, INSIDE
BACKS (Devon, Anh, Jang, Deb, Jules) - veggies, FORWARDS - appetizers
DETAILS: We will be having a team meeting to discuss plans to recruit for
and develop our women's program, specifically in regards to the much needed
2nd division team - please be ready to commit to some action on this.
Food, food, food! Hopefully some mini-christmasy games (if I can get myself
sorted by then). Then the Mickey Draw - I'm sure Devlin will write a
well-woven tale about this event shortly, so stay tuned for that -
basically bring a mickey of any kind of alcohol to be entered in a reverse
draw for a bunch more alcohol (participation in the draw is of course
optional, but do stick around and mingle with our great club members).
WHAT: Burnaby Women's Annual Whistler Retreat!! (ALL AGES!)
WHEN: Friday Jan 11 - Sunday Jan 13
WHERE: Same cabin as usual, ever so close to the village
COST: Should not be more than $50 per person. This will cover your
accommodation and all your food.
WHAT TO BRING: We will send out an organized menu and you can sign up to
bring something. Bring your own sleeping bag, pillow, snow equipment (e.g.
snowboard, skis etc), warm clothes, party clothes, I can be more specific
later...
DETAILS: More details to follow, but the jist of it is - at some point
Friday we all find our way there and enjoy a fun evening together at the
cabin as people arrive and settle in. Saturday people do various things on
the mountain - ski, snowboard, toboggan, skate, bungee jump, snow shoe,
wander the village, relax in front of the fire surrounded by the snowy view
(ish) - whatever you want! Saturday night a nice meal together at the
cabin and some fun out in the village or at the cabin - again, whatever you
want to do to have fun! Sunday morning, big breakfast, clean up, and wind
your way home.
FIRST THINGS FIRST: Let me know if you are in! There is limited space, so
first come first serve, and previous players are also invited, so make up
your mind sooner than later. Payment secures your spot - I will be at the
Mickey Draw or you can test your luck until practices start in January...
Enjoy the break! See you all on the 6th!
Jules
