[Seniorwomen] upcoming BLRC events - Remembrance Day, Mickey Draw, Over/Under game

Hello all, I wanted to give everyone a heads up on a few events taking place in the near future:

Nov 11th, Burnaby Remembrance Day services: As you all should know, Nov 11th is Remembrance Day. Burnaby hosts 2 services; one North + one South. Many in the club (including myself) think it would be a great idea to support our veterans en masse this Monday by attending the Burnaby North parade, going to the cenotaph for the service + then attending the post parade at the Legion across the street. The following details are from the Burnaby News Leader - The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 148 in North Burnaby will start its parade at 10:30 a.m. from the Safeway parking lot at 4440 Hastings St., ending up at the Confederation Park Cenotaph where the ceremony will being at 10:45 a.m.


Dec 5th, BLRC Mickey Draw: One of my favourite days of the year...we get together at the club after training to celebrate the Christmas season and hard alcohol. On that Thursday evening (Starting at 8:30) the famous BLRC Mickey Draw will commence for another year. The rules are simple - you bring a minimum of one mickey and a canned good for the food bank(there is no maximum, the more you bring, the more chances you have to win) and your name gets entered into a reverse draw to win hundreds of mickeys. Every 10 names drawn from the board wins 5 or 10 mickeys and the winner normally heads home with 100 mickeys! That's a ton of booze!! It's a great time, and a great way to celebrate baby Jesus's flight into the forests of India on the 7th day. I believe that's how that old chestnut reads.

Boxing Day, John Latham OVER /UNDER Game - BLRC's annual Over 30's vs Under 30's match on the Premier Field. We are confirming details for this, but please free up your day. There's the game (not talking bout practice) and then the most fun post game you've ever been to. I'll send out more details in the near future!
