Unfortunate results from weekend.
The past Saturday was a bad day for the club.
Premiers lost 16-25 (2 tries – 4) away at Capilano, with Denis Marsten and Mark Smith scoring tries. Kory Kawaguchi kicked one drop goaland one penalty goal.
Firsts lost 17-43 away at Capilanos, with tries scored by Lazo Lazic, Anton Schamberger and Frank Suchodolski. Tony Hunt kicked one conversion.
Seconds lost 5-27 away at Capilanos, with Roland Hinmueller scoring the only points.
Thirds lost 0-60 away at Capilanos.
Junior Men “A” lost 19-27 away at Rowing Club with Matt Wong, Gareth Morrey-Jones amd Rainiel de Guzman scoring tries. Alex Clulow kicked two conversions.
Junior Men “B” played away at Pocomo, with no scored yet reported.
The only bright spot in the weekend was as usual our Women’s teams.
The Premier Women. Continuing with their undefeated ways they defeated Nanaimo 29-8 at home. Paula Grewal, Sabrina Celms, Shauna Allan scored one try each and Karyne Steele scored a pair. Julia Sugawara kicked two conversions.
On Sunday Junior Women “A” beat SFU 65-0 (due to the mercy rule 40-0) at home. Try scorers were Renee Reiss, Shannon Fedewa, Chelsea Windl, Wanda Coalier, Natalie Rosecky, Katy Burkholder, Danielle Berry, Kayleigh Fell and Christine Lowe.
Junior Women “B” played away at Douglas, with no scored yet reported.
Also on Sunday the Under-16 Men played away at Capilano. The final score was Capilanos 40, Burnaby Lake 22. Try scorers for Burnaby Lake were Alan Tang, Garreth Morrey-Johns, and Brandon MacArthur with two tries and a convert.
