The BLRC will be making a cross town visit to the Meralomas tomorrow with four teams playing in Vancouver. The Premier Men will be kicking off at 2:30, the First Division begins at 1:00, and the Premier Women start the day off at 11:30. These games will all be played at the Meralomas home at Connaught Park. The 3-A’s are also facing the Lomas but this game is scheduled at Balaclava Park because of field availability; this game will also be kicking off at 11:30 am.
The Burnaby Premier men will be looking to extend thier winning streak tomorrow and keep their share of first place intact. The Lomas coming off a loss last weekend against lead sharing Capilanos won’t go down easy. In the previous meeting the Lomas came away winners 25-15. The Meralomas took all the matches when they visited Burnaby in the fall and so both the First Division and 3-A’s will be looking to redeam themselves tomorrow. With a healthy club and the current depth we could repay the sweep that we suffered at the hands of the Lomas in the first half.
The women’s team have already faced each other twice this season and Burnaby have been victorious in both games. While neither game has been a blowout (17-10 and 7-3) Burnaby should be able to keep it current form and handle the Lomas.
The 3-B’s were originally scheduled to play the Capilanos but they have since withdrawn from the league and so the 3-B team has a bye this weekend.
Come on out to watch the action tomorrow as both club have strong team and a tradition of rivalry.
