This weekend is an important one for the club. Here is a preview of the game being played by BLRC on Saturday …
Three of the club’s team will be heading to the island for the day. In the new Premier league structure the first division side will be joining the Premier side against James Bay. While we haven’t faced the island team this season be assured that they will come out strong looking to take a win against one of the Premier league leaders. The Burnay first division side are in a game that could make a big impact on their season. A win would put them at 4-2, and excellent spot leading in to the final stretch while a loss would drop them to .500. These guys will be working hard to secure the win. The third team to make the island journey is the Premier Women, they are heading a little further north to face Nanaimo. Nanaimo and Burnaby have both been at the top of the tables for the past few years and have quite a rivalry going. Nanaimo have taken the first two games of the series, but both games were close and could have gone either way. The women will not want to see the Nanimo team sweep the year, and with only two games left they will be using this game to prepare for the upcoming playoffs.
Back at home the 3A’s have scheduled an exhibition match against SFU at home and the 3B’s will be looking to extend their current win streak to 5.
On Sunday the U-16 side is hosting the Capilanos, as is the U-14 B side. The U-14 A team will be facing Cowichan in Burnaby.
