There are a couple of upcoming events that members may be interested in…
First this weekend is the Thanksgiving long weekend and the majority of us don’t have games. There is the East/West game which is basically a selection game for Canada leading up to the November tour to France. Burnaby’s Pat Riordan has been selected to play for the West and would certainly appreciate some fans from home. The game is to be played Thanksgiving Monday at Thunderbird Stadium with a 1:30 pm kick-off.
The following weekend, on the 15th there are only two games being played, the Women will be in Kits playing the Meralomas and the Third Division will be facing Bayside in a make-up game.
The following weekend will see everyone away with the Women on the Island facing Nanaimo and the two of the Men’s team crossing the border to face Seattle. Anyone interested in staying in Seattle that night and catching the Seahawks play the Dallas Cowboys on the Sunday should talk to Simon Smoldon soon for details. The game is at 1 pm and this would give us ample time to take in the action and then make our way back to Canada.
On the final weekend of the month we have a home stand against the Meralomas on the Men’s side and UBC on the Women’s. That night the club will be hosting the first club event of the 05-06 season. A Halloween Bash. This is going to be one big event and all club members are invited to attend. Stay tuned for more details.
