Here are the outcomes from this past Saturday’s games…
The Premier women were back in action after a weekend off. The were at Wolfson fields to play against UBC. In their last meeting UBC managed to hold the women to a scorless tie. This time was a bit of a different story with the girls handily defeating the University squad.
Down at Connought Park the men’s team we playing the Lomas in the second leg of the Palmer Cup. Action started in the third division where the Burnaby squad pulled off a win with a successful kick on the last play of a game shortened by the lack of a ref. 8-5 was the final score.
The First divison side was in tough against a larger Lomas side. With injuries putting a number of players on the sidelines for this match. The players on the field played hard but with a number of them out of position there was little continutity in their attack. In the end they put up a good fight but lost the match, as well as their scrumhalf DeGuzman with a broken leg.
The Loma Premier team have been having a very successful season and the Burnaby Team had to step up for this one. The visiting side just didn’t get organized for this one and the eventual result was a lopsided 41-19 victory for the Lomas.
