In the women’s divisions the premier women came away with a 42-17 victory over Capilano, while the second division women fell to 15-34 to a strong Brit Lions side.
In the third division match the boys remained at the top of the chart with a strong performance by the entire team. Great games were had by Walter Homewood, Adam Dowhy, Dan Schinbein and young Brian Murphy. A warm welcome was also given to returning BLRC junior Mike O’Toole who showed well in his 1st game of senior rugby for the Blue & White. In the First Division Match the boys started slow but managed to pull out a victory to remain third in the standings. Great games were had by Aaron “the Slayer” Reed, Matt Jarvis and Mike Wong.
In the premier game the boys came out guns’a’blazin to secure the all valuable ‘BP’ victory. The game started with an early Burnaby try from Adam “I’m Scottish” Martin quickly followed by Mike James 1st premier try for BLRC in 18 years but Abby went toe to toe with the BLRC – the score close at half 18-0.
In the second half tries were scored by Fuku Vikilani, Giuseppe Laudisio x 2, Admir Cejvanovic and a host of others.
Geoff Ryan handled kicking duties well.
Great games were had by Admir Cejvanovic, Mike Gough and the newcomer Mike James.

Following the games on Saturday & Sunday BLRC has qualified 7 teams for post season play – 3 senior men’s, 2 women’s & both U14’s & U16’s. An achievement everyone of a Blue & White persuasion is very proud of. The next challenge is success in the upcoming playoffs & everyone will be working hard for this in the next couple of weeks.
