The Canadian National Rugby Championships are coming to Burnaby in August…
Starting on August 17th the Burnaby lake Rugby Club is playing host to teams from all over Canada. They are coming to contest the National Championships in their respective divisions. The 2005 Rugby Canada National Championship Festival is a five day event from Wednesday August 17th to Sunday August 21st. Teams will be competing for the Senior Women’s, Women’s U-19, Women’s U-17, Men’s U-21 and Men’s U-16 titles. Hosting such a large event is an honour and a chance for the us to showcase our club to the rest of the country. The organising comittee is doing an excellent job so far and there is no doubt that they will be pulling off an excellent festival. As always with such an undertaking there will be the need for volunteers. If you are able to volunteer some time to support the club, the provincial union, and Rugby Canada in this endevour then read on. Volunteers are needed from Tuesday August 16th until Sunday August 21st from 8:00am to 6:00pm each day. Interested members can call the clubhouse (604-294-4144) and leave a message if there is no one there or can email webmaster@blrc.bc.ca. Please ensure that you leave you name and contact information as well as your availability. Remember even if you can only volunteer for a portion of the festival your help would be greatly appreciated.
Come out and help ensure that the 2005 Rugby Canada National Championship Festival is the best one yet and that the participant leave Burnaby with a sense of what we already know; that the BLRC is one of the strongest clubs in North America on and off the field.
