This weekend will be quiet at the clubhouse but there is still rugby to be played and watched…
The First and Second divisions will be heading South across the border to face Seattle after a two week break. The last games that Burnaby played were against league leading Capilanos. They both lost but the Firsts certainly showed that they can be competative with any team in the league. They need to bring this attitude to the states and to bring home their first win of the season. Seattle hosted Bayside last week in two divisions. Seattle lost both games 46-22 in the first division and 36-26 in seconds.
If you are interested in joining the team for the trip down there is still space left on the charter bus. Talk to Simon Smoldon regarding the details.
The Premier women too are making their first road trip of the year. They are heading over to the island to play Nanaimo. The Nanaimo team has been a powerhouse in recent years but this season has seen a bit of an exodus of their veteran players. This has certainly weakened the team but as we all know anything can happen. The girls I am sure will continue their winning ways as they are well drilled and are on track for another excellent season.
Lastly Mark Lavery and Joe Lee will be on hand tonight selling tickets for the BLRC Halloween Bash. The party is taking place in the Mohawk room on October 29th. All teams are at home against the Lomas that Saturday so the transition from rugby to the party will be an easy one.
