Rugby Canada World Cup captain Paddy Riordon presented former rugby player and Canadian Afghanistan war hero Trevor Greene with at a “We Stand On Guard For Thee” print (painting done by Regina artist Ladd Fogarty as part of a joint Dog River Howlers/Rugby Canada fundraising endeavour to raise money for the Canadian Rugby World Cup team). Trevor spoke at the August 16 Victoria, BC fundraiser which national team veterans like Tom Woods and Hans de Goede along with everyone I spoke to who was there agreed that they were the most inspiring words they had ever witnessed. I’m sure that the 16 Canadian RWC players who were present will take Trevor’s inspirational words with them “into battle” in New Zealand.
