Greetings MEN, I hope that everyone’s Holidays were everything they dreamed that they would be and more! I was hoping that Santa would bring me a new tie, some lighter fluid, and Lone Ranger costume and I wasn’t disappointed!!
As you all SHOULD know, training resumes this Thursday night at turf field 4 at 7pm. We are working on getting the Taranaki scrum coach in on Thursday to help out with a scrum session for the Forwards, so EVERYONE’S attendance is mandatory! We are looking to compete for a championship in every division this spring and the coaches + executive hope that everyone will put their best effort forward and help the club achieve our Championship goals!
******PRE-SEASON GAME + HOSTING *******
Feb 2nd will be a BIG day for our club as we have the Icelandic Exiles coming to play at Burnaby Lake Rugby Club. This is the 1st stop on their North American tour and we are looking to play them in 2 games(12pm + 200pm kickoffs) and have a College Rifles-esque sendoff for them that night at the clubhouse. There will be a formal banquet afterwards in the Mohawk Room and we are expecting a big BLUE + WHITE day at the club. All Men’s players are expected to take be available on this day for one of the games. If you are one of the players taking part in the Men’s or U-20 McKechnie Cup competition and are named to play for the FVRU that day, the McKechnie Cup matches will take precedence.
Your dedication to the club and your team this Spring will be rewarded and it starts on Thursday!!
Sincerely,
Mike Devlin
