Every year the Justice Rugby Club awards a scholarship from the Rob Forsberg Memorial Fund to a local rugby player to help fund their education. This scholarship is to commemorate the tragic death of Rob Forsberg in 1999. Rob had been an integral member of the Justice Rugby Club and Vancouver Trojans since 1976. After the merger of the Burnaby Buffaloes and the Trojans, Rob continued to be part of the newly formed Burnaby Lake Club. Rob was a physical presence on the field and an ambassador to the game of rugby. Rob is greatly missed and will always be in our hearts. Every season Burnaby Lake honours Rob’s memory by awarding a club member with the Rob Forsberg Trophy.
To help raise funds for the Memorial Fund we are having a Rugby World Cup pool. It is $20 to enter your picks, please see the attachment on the number of teams you can pick. Your picks are due in by September 9th and payment by the 18th. Half of all entry fees will go to prizes, the other half to the Rob Forsberg Memorial Fund.
