September 17, 1945 – December 19, 2011 Patrick (Pat) Garnet Anderson – coach, mentor, and successful business man, passed away suddenly on December 19, 2011 at the age of 66. Pat was born in England in 1945 and moved with his family to Canada shortly thereafter. In 1958, he moved to British Columbia from Ontario where he grew up in Vancouver as a graduate of Tupper Secondary. Here he developed a competitive spirit for rugby and for business which he used to establish a successful insurance career for over 42 years. He was a passionate rugby player and coach of the Kats Rugby Club and Fraser Valley Venom, a team he proudly coached to two national rugby championships. He brought his love of coaching and mentorship to his staff at Pat Anderson Agencies Ltd in Burnaby, making it a leader in the insurance community and an organization based on values he held dear: trust, honesty, and hard work. Pat is suvrived by his loving wife Sharon, his son Richard, daugher Hilleri (J.P) and his grandchildren, Harley and Bronwyn. He will also be missed by his longtime business partner and friend, Paul Towriss, and the many employees, associates and friends that he called family. A celebration of his life will be held at the Burnaby’s Hilton Hotel in Metrotown on January 5, 2012 at 2:00pm.
