Burnaby Lake Rugby Club would like to congratulate Pat Riordan for his selection to the 2011 World Cup Squad. Pat will lead the team from the front row both as the starting hooker and also as the captain. Pat earned his first cap as a hooker for Canada in 2003, and has earned 37 caps over nine years. As well, Pat has captained the BC Bears provincial Men’s rep team. Pat has played club rugby in Wales, New Zealand, and Australia.
The Canadian team now steps up preparations,upcoming test matches in Toronto and Denver in August. The team then departs for Queensland, Australia mid August for the final training camp and games against the Queensland Selects and Australian Barbarians before flying to New Zealand. Canada faces Tonga, France, Japan and New Zealand in its 2011 Rugby World Cup pool.
