Congratulations to the Elite men and Women who retained their respective Burnaby 7s Titles this past Saturday. Both teams displayed dominant form en route to undefeated title runs. Both teams now sit atop BC 7s points standings with only one tournament remaining.
Congratulations also to the Social men who were runners up in their division. In a repeat of the SFU 7s final three weeks ago, the team met with a young and fit Velox side. But despite late game heroics, they come just short of a Burnaby sweep on the day. They did however show outstanding form in the garden throughout the day.
Burnaby also had two junior divisions on the day. In the U-14 category Burnaby took the top prize on a two game aggregate score against Delta. While in U-17 action the Burnaby Boys came just short of snatching victory in the final against the BC U-17 team.
Thanks again to all the referees! Your officiating on the day was impeccable. Thanks to all the volunteers who were there to set up, cook, clean, take down, and do whatever else needed to be done. The day wouldn’t have been a success without the effort you put in.
