Another weekend another delayed update. Sorry for the delay but school is pretty hectic these days.
Well there were fewer games than usual this weekend but the BLRC was still busy:
Junior “A” lost away to Ravens 0-14 to place sixth overall for the post season.
Thirds lost away to Meralomas 5-17.
Seconds lost away to Meralomas 22-39 with one try from Pat Riordan and two from Ryan Neufeld. Tony Hunt kicked one penalty goal and two conversions. (Note: the try scorer’s are not typos)
For the past month it has been the Premier Women’s team having to step up and win a game so that the club doesn’t get completely swept on a weekend. With the Women done for the first half of the season, that responsiblity fell to the Men. Fortunately the Firsts were able to come through. They beat the Meralomas 11-6 at Connaught Park, wtih the only try scored by Erik Lynum. Jamie Levchuk kicked two penalty goals.
The Premier Men had a bye for the last week of the first half.
The U-16 Boys and U-18 Girls are finished for the season.
