Here are this weekend’s results from the season openers in White Rock…
With many new faces in the squad Burnaby struggled in the opening weekend. The three men’s teams were up against Bayside on their home field. The third division had a tight game with a 27-22 loss. The second division too had a close one losing 27-20. In the final game of the day Bayside proved to be in control with the result being 48-14 for the home side. With so many changes the BLRC is sure to fight against some growing pains, but with the talent that we have the club will surely be a contender in the coming weeks.
The Premier women continued there winning ways from the past season with an opening win against Meralomas. The final score was 17-10 in the game played at Burnaby Lake.
Now that the season is upon us practices are running full tilt on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30. Come on down for a run and to prepare for the weekend game.
Next weekend is the club home opener against the Rowing Club. We hope to see all club members down at the pitch to support the club. That evening, following the games and post match socialising will be the first club event of the new season. A mystery trip will be taking place for the evening and all are invited to take part. More details will follow.
