This coming Saturday sees Burnaby Lake play its final matches of 2004, come on out and enjoy some rugby before the Christmas Break…
The day starts at 11:30 with the Women hosting the Meralomas. The Women have lost two in a row to Nanaimo and Capilanos, the two teams who have met Burnaby in the finals the past two years. Their earlier meeting saw Burnaby beat the Lomas 17-10 in the opening match of the season. The Women will be looking to put the past two weeks behind them with a comvincing win over the Lomas.
The rest of the action is happening at Wolfson fields with Burnaby’s 3 Senior Men’s teams facing UBC. The UBC sides will be, as always, fast and fit. Burnaby will have to rely on patience and experience to defeat these youngsters. In first division UBC has proved themselves by making it in to the Premier season in the second half and being the only team to defeat the first place Meralomas. That being said some of their other results have been less than stellar. With a week off Burnaby will have had some time to recover from any ailments and to regroup after a tough couple of weeks in the schedule which saw them facing the first and second place teams in succession.
Game times are 11:30 for the Third Division, 1:00 for the Second Division, and 2:30 for the First Division.
